Participation is open to all boys ages 6-13, as of
July 1, 2008. Mail-In and in-person registration begins on February 25, 2008. All
participants must be registered members of the RVC Parks & Recreation
Department. Membership fee is $13.50/residents of RVC and $15.50/nonresidents
for fiscal year June 1, 2008 - May 31, 2009. This fee is included in the tuition
payment for the Baseball School program.

Time: 9:30am-1:30pm
Place: Barasch Field (S. Park Ave. Rockville Centre)
Tuition:
Resident of RVC: $315.00 for 9 sessions Non-resident: $365.00 for 9 sessions Tuition includes RVC Recreation Membership card, T-shirt and insurance.
There is no provision for one-week registration. Full payment is due upon registration- reservations cannot be made without full payment. Family rate: $25 reduction for each additional registrant in same family. Equipment: Players must bring the following articles for their instructional program: GLOVE, HAT, RUBBER SPIKES, and a BAT. OUTLINE OF THE PROGRAM: Director: BOB HIRSCHFIELD, who has directed the RVC
Baseball School since its inception in 1975. He is the head coach of New York
Tech, from which 55 players have signed professional contracts with 3 playing in
the major leagues and another 4 selected as Division I All-Americans. He is also
Director of the New York Baseball Academy.
Students will be grouped by age, evaluated by our
staff and then regrouped based upon ability level. The daily instructional
program will stress the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, fielding and
base-running. Players will select and take part in daily position workshops.
Emphasis will be in the areas of pitching, infield and catching. Once again, we
will include clinics in proper speed development. Students will participate in
daily instructional games. Coaches will stress defensive and offensive play with
emphasis on team effort.
