ELIGIBILITY: Boys ages 6 -12

Week 1 - June 30, July 1, 2, 3 (no Rain Date) Time: 9:30am to 1:00pm  

Week 2 - July 7, 8, 9, 10 (Rain Date July 11th) Time: 9:30am to 1:00pm

PYA Residents only - $175.00 (1 week) $290.00 (Both Weeks) (INCLUDES T-SHIRT)
Non Residents - $195.00 (1 week) $340.00 (Both Weeks) (INCLUDES T-SHIRT)

OUTLINE OF PROGRAM

Students will be grouped by age, evaluated by our staff and then regrouped based on their ability level. The daily instructional program will stress the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, fielding and base stealing. Players will select and take part in a daily position workshop. Emphasis will be in the areas of pitching, infield and catching. Once again, we will include clinics on proper speed development. Students will participate daily in instructional games. Coaching will stress defensive play with emphasis on team effort.

STAFF:
BOB HIRSCHFIELD - Director of the New York Baseball Academy: 
Presently the Head Coach at New York Tech. Over 55 of his players have signed professional contracts and 3 of his players have been selected as Division I All-Americans, He is the founder of the NYBA, which has been in existence for the past 33 years.

HELMS BOHRINGER - Lead Instructor

  • 1996 High School Coach of the Year, (Nassau County)
  • Head Coach and Physical Education Teacher for Mineola High School
  • Former player and coach in the Los Angeles Dodger organization
  • Head Coach for the Nassau Collegians in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (NCAA Summer League) Staff: Comprised of college coaches and players in addition to high school coaches who are all on the staff of the NYBA on a year-round basis

    EQUIPMENT: Players must bring these articles for their instructional program: GLOVE, HAT, SPIKES (RUBBER) AND A BAT. All players must wear either a pair of baseball or long pants for the program.
